Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Hardware Support Technician / Desktop Support Engineer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience supporting desktops, laptops, workstations, and peripheral devices. The ideal candidate will provide onsite deskside support, perform hardware break-fix activities, manage inventory, and ensure excellent end-user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hardware break-fix support (typically via whole unit swap)
- Deliver deskside and onsite technical support to end users
- Execute device installations, upgrades, and configuration changes
- Troubleshoot issues across Windows, Macintosh, Linux, and mobile platforms
- Maintain spares and manage onsite hardware inventory
- Perform asset tagging and update asset management systems
- Provide weekly reports on inventory counts and hardware outflows
- Work with external suppliers to schedule repairs and replacements
- Follow defined processes, work instructions, and escalation procedures
- Support VIP users and interface with multiple levels of stakeholders
- Deliver a high level of customer service at all times
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in IT hardware/desktop support
- Strong knowledge of desktops, laptops, printers, handheld devices, and smartphones
- Good understanding of LAN, WAN, Wireless, VPN, and VLAN concepts
- Proficiency in Windows OS and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills in English and local languages
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in inventory management and reporting
- Exposure to enterprise IT environments
- Relevant IT certifications (a plus)
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
